Cosmic is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Manage Cosmic CMS content, media, object types, and AI generation from any MCP client. As an MCP server it plugs straight into AI assistants, exposing its functionality as tools the model can invoke on your behalf.
You can run Cosmic two ways: connect to the hosted endpoint at https://mcp.cosmicjs.com/v1/buckets/{bucket_slug} with no local install, or run it on your own machine via the npm package @cosmicjs/mcp. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need COSMIC_BUCKET_SLUG, COSMIC_READ_KEY. The current release is v1.6.0, published under the MIT license, with source at cosmicjs/mcp on GitHub.
