Copilot Datagate

Overview

Copilot Datagate is a policy-driven, read-only MCP server that enables safe database access from AI tools. By implementing the Model Context Protocol, it lets AI assistants query databases as callable tools rather than requiring manual data transfer between applications.

The server runs locally through the npm package @copilot-datagate/cli, which communicates with MCP clients over stdio. No authentication credentials are needed—it operates immediately after installation. Version v0.4.0 is available under the Apache-2.0 license, with source code hosted at afurlane/copilot-datagate on GitHub.
