Constellation

Overview

Constellation is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Code Intelligence Platform for AI Coding Agents. In practice that means any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call Constellation's tools directly — the model decides when to use them in a conversation or agent run.

It runs locally: the npm package @constellationdev/mcp speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need CONSTELLATION_ACCESS_KEY. The current release is v1.2.8, published under the AGPL-3.0 license, with source at ShiftinBits/constellation-mcp on GitHub.
