Overview

Compartment is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Durable agentic memory, encrypted at rest. Fully offline: no network, no API key, no cloud. Because it speaks the Model Context Protocol, AI assistants can use Compartment as a set of callable tools instead of you copy-pasting between apps.

It runs locally: the Python package compartment (via uvx) speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. No credentials are required — it works out of the box. The current release is v4.9.3, published under the Apache-2.0 license, with source at MaxFreedomPollard/Compartment on GitHub, where it has earned 587 stars.
