Canvas Parent Mcp

Overview

Canvas Parent Mcp is a Model Context Protocol server that connects Claude and other AI assistants directly to Canvas LMS (Instructure). Access your courses, grades, assignments, planner, and files without leaving your AI environment. Instead of switching between apps, Claude can read and interact with your Canvas data as callable tools.

The server runs locally on your machine via the npm package canvas-parent-mcp, which communicates over stdio. Install it with npx -y canvas-parent-mcp. You'll need to provide your CANVAS_BASE_URL and an API Key for authentication. The latest release is v1.5.0, published under the MIT license with source code available at chrischall/canvas-parent-mcp on GitHub.
