Blackout

Overview

Blackout is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Permanent local PDF redaction: text is removed and verified gone, not covered. No uploads. As an MCP server it plugs straight into AI assistants, exposing its functionality as tools the model can invoke on your behalf.

It runs locally: the npm package @thrain/blackout-mcp speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. No credentials are required — it works out of the box. The current release is v1.3.0, published under the Apache-2.0 license, with source at thrain-ai/blackout-pdf on GitHub.
