Alpaca Guard

Overview

Alpaca Guard is a Model Context Protocol server that connects to Alpaca's trading API with built-in safeguards. It enforces a hard daily USD spending cap and runs in paper trading mode by default, with live trading available as an opt-in feature. By exposing Alpaca trading as MCP tools, it lets AI assistants execute trades programmatically while respecting your risk limits.

The server runs locally via the npm package alpaca-guard-mcp using the command npx -y alpaca-guard-mcp. You'll need an Alpaca API key to authenticate. The latest release is v0.1.1, distributed under the MIT license with source code available at evidai/agent-payment-mcp on GitHub.
