AESO MCP

Overview

AESO MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that provides typed Alberta electricity market data and analytics through official AESO APIs. It integrates directly with AI assistants, exposing electricity market tools that models can invoke to access real-time and historical data from Alberta's energy sector.

The server runs locally via the Python package aeso-mcp, installed through uvx. It communicates over stdio and requires an AESO_API_KEY environment variable for authentication. Version v0.3.0 is available now under the MIT license, with full source code at bchoi-qwe/aeso-mcp on GitHub.
