Aegis

Overview

Aegis is an MCP server that provides credential isolation for AI agents by injecting secrets at the network boundary. Rather than exposing sensitive data directly to your AI tools, Aegis acts as a secure intermediary, letting Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients access credentials safely through the Model Context Protocol.

The server runs locally via npx -y @getaegis/cli and communicates with MCP clients over stdio. You'll need to configure two environment variables: AEGIS_MASTER_KEY and AEGIS_SALT. Version v1.0.5 is available now under the Apache-2.0 license, with source code at getaegis/aegis on GitHub where the project has 13 stars.
