Aegis is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Six-gate governance for AI agents: PROCEED/PAUSE/HALT decisions with hash-chained audit trails. In practice that means any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call Aegis's tools directly — the model decides when to use them in a conversation or agent run.

You can run Aegis two ways: connect to the hosted endpoint at https://mcp.aegis.undercurrentholdings.com/mcp with no local install, or run it on your own machine via the Python package aegis-governance (via uvx). The current release is v1.3.1, published under the MIT license, with source at undercurrentai/aegis-mcp on GitHub.
