Aegis — AI Agent Governance

Overview

Aegis — AI Agent Governance is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Policy-based governance for AI agent tool calls. YAML policy, approval gates, audit logging. As an MCP server it plugs straight into AI assistants, exposing its functionality as tools the model can invoke on your behalf.

It runs locally: the Python package agent-aegis (via uvx) speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. No credentials are required — it works out of the box. The current release is v0.1.7, published under the MIT license, with source at Acacian/aegis on GitHub, where it has earned 15 stars.
