About Productivity MCP servers
Productivity servers connect agents to the tools where work already lives: Notion, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Obsidian, Todoist, Linear, Jira, Airtable and similar apps. A typical server exposes tools to search and read pages, create or update records, manage tasks and events, and summarise what changed, so an assistant can draft a status update, file a ticket, or move a meeting without you switching windows.
Most of these servers authenticate with OAuth or a personal API token and run either locally or as a hosted remote endpoint. Check which scopes a server requests and whether it writes as well as reads; many teams start with read-only access and widen it once the agent has earned trust. Hosted servers are the easiest fit for Claude Desktop connectors and ChatGPT.
